W. Andrew Hammer, Master of Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22, 'Observing the Craft' calls for a reverent and philosophically serious approach to the practice of Freemasonry. It is a stringent argument for the Symbolic Lodge as being the whole of Masonry, calling for nothing but the utmost effort and commitment to be put into the operation of a Masonic lodge and its meetings. He is a Royal Arch Mason, a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Allied Masonic Degrees. Additionally, he is a member of the Philalethes Society and the Quatuor Coronati Correspondence Circle. He is on the Executive Committee of the George Washington Masonic Memorial and on the Board of Directors for the Masonic Society.
